What about a Bill of making modded cars legal up to a certain hp cutoff of 500whp... Everything goes, no need for carb stickers. High flow cats necessary on every car. etc etc.

Bigger seats don't require an SUV. I've seen some rather large people get out of rather small vehicles.

Here's why I say limit the SUV use. My aunt, to this day, uses "Taking the kids to Tahoe" as her reason for still owning an SUV. She just got a new SUV a few months ago. One daughter is married and lives on NY. One daughter is out of college and doing her own thing with her own car. Youngest daughter is a junior in college. Point being she no longer makes trips to tahoe with 5 girl scouts and weeks worth of luggage.

Or maybe just re-evaluate the current laws on modifications. Legalizing hi-flow cats that filter the exhaust at the same level of the stock system or better.

not a bad idea. high flow cats are necessary and LEGAL. not sure about the limiting horsepower thing cause that can't really be measured easily.

lol going to Tahoe and Rallycrossing is the only thing stopping me from modding my Miata.

Ive been to Tahoe and Rallycross events about 8 times combined over 2 1/2 years

its nice in the rain, but that only means you catch up to the mtn road boulders twice as fast and they dont pull over when the turnouts are muddy...pfff...

I have considered something like this.

Cats do not make you lose power really. It just happens that cats are most often attached to extremely restricting pipes.

I have considered the idea of a "pay to play" sort of system. You have to pay taxes corresponding to how much your car is modified from the factory and it would be used along with allowing high flow cats. Of course some people will complain that this limits who can modify, which in turn limits choice. Also, if I went this route, I would make it mandatory for these modified cars to have yearly mechanical and safety inspections.

Maybe a bill that changes the punishment for individuals arrested for gang activity. Classify gangs as terrorist organizations so that they can be prosecuted in the federal courts with REAL sentences away from their family members that flood the California state prisons. Lock 'em up with REAL murderers

That has a huge flaw. How can be labeled a gang? Can I-Club members bearing stickers be considered a gang? Though maybe unlikely, the government is known for over stepping its bounds... I just see civil liberties being violated.

Get rid of the Federal Reserve, upon their audit, you will see that they are just one large Enron without reporting to anyone. Do that, and you'd probably change how our economy works. Pulling our economic troubles out of debt.

for the longest time i have wondered why the u.s. still hasn't converted to the metric system. make that ish a law.

also, it should be illegal to advertise prices without tax, crv, recyling fee, etc. i was thinking about this when i was shopping for tires on my g/f's honda which were advertised at $59 each, but after taxes and recycling fee, they were more like $72 each! the price shown should be the final price. when you pay for gas, the tax is already factored in. how pissed would people be if they had to factor in tax every time at the pump? they do try and get you with the 9/10 of a cent crap, but that should probably be illegal too.

*shrug* Just a suggestion...have no idea how it would work but the gov't seems to regulate everything else....
easiest way to to have all child-bearing capable females to be on a court mandated birth control...

prison reform - dont treat prison as REHABILITATION, but rather as punishment.

prison is seen as education from what they say...thats where they learn better techniques to not get caught the next time around.

Island is genius...pay some guards to sit in a tower and a few boats and youre all good!
