if ur vision is good.. then ur eyes just get stressed from staring at the computer screen. mess around w/ the brightness and contrast settings... get a glare screen... adjust the fonts of the pages ( CTRL + wheel up or wheel down; to make the fonts bigger or smaller w/o having to go into settings ) and take breaks from the computer screen and stare at the grass or something neutral for a bit so ur eyes can recup.
When I was about 20 that started happening to me. Turns out I started getting an astigmatism in both of my eyes (one significantly worse than the other). Originally for me it was solely just computer screens and data projectors that were blurry. Now almost everything is blurry, but I can still read printed material fine without them, just not for very long.
Before that, though, I definitely scored higher than average on my vision tests. Heck, on my first visit the doctor was amazed that I could even tell I needed glasses because my vision was only slightly worse than 20/20.
Tried contacts. Hated them, so I'm back to glasses 100% of the time.

I used to wear glasses from the age of 3-17 my eyes got better and they said i didnt need to wear them. Since getting into my accident i think it maybe time to get glasses again. When i hit the windshield i have now had several issues with my left eye mainly. As of today my eye does a wobble thing or a vibrate thing it gets really annoying and i find especially if i am tired i cant read anything with my left eye. I have to close my left eye and read out of my right eye. That becomes a big pain in the butt. I now can get my eyes checked cus in the beginning they wouldnt test my eyes due to swollen nature of hitting the windshield and they said i had to wait a full year to know if it was perm damage are temp damage. Well i reach a year and the memory problems and the eye problems are still there.
My husband on the other hand never had eye problems but now that hes working so many hours in front of a pc and also at home in front of one he now gets headaches and never ever gets headaches. I suggested to him as well to get his eyes tested.

Didn't your Mom warn you? Internet pR0n causes blindness!
OK, you're only 28, but you're still getting older. Your eyes change shape. That's why even those of us with glasses have to go back every year or two for a new pair, because the scrip changes.
There are "Internet Glasses" Not sure exactly what they do, I think it's mostly a non glare coating or something. But I know when I get my glasses made they always ask if I use the computer a lot.. uh yeah..
You might just need a mild correction along with a glare coating and be all good.

Ok so I hav ebeen wearing lasses since i wa slike 3 or 4 years old. I have astigmatisms in both eyes, plus everything has a shadow or a halo to it. i dont notice it really unless a doctor points it out. I have just always seen it so i am used to it.
I was told if i would have worn my glasses all through school until now i would probably just need reading glasses. sometimes your eyes will refocus themselves and then you will only need reading glasses. I was too hung up on the cool factor in school so now i wear them always.
The DMV says i have to wear glasses. rstr: corr lens right there on the DL
I didnt have insurance til recently but i do now(thanks to the wife).
When i lived with my parents and out on my own when i needed glasses I always went to Sears or Walmart.
I know it sounds janky but they have good eye doctors there. They do a really good job. They have a great selection of frames and the prices are decent. It will pry cost like $85 for an appointment and then glasses can cost a little or a lot depending on what kind you get.
Lens Crafters is a joke. And I wouldnt recommend them.
Even if you wanna get contacts i would recommend getting a pair of glasses, plus contacts cost a ton of money...even with insurance. I wear my contacts a lot but sometimes my eyes are just too tired to wear them.
All in all no matter what you do get the scrath protectant stuff on them. nothing worse than looking through a pair of scratched up glasses.

See an eye doctor.
You mentioned having this problem with several monitors, but I recommend setting the refresh rate to at least 75Hz. (Don't think this applies to LCDs)
You can try an anti-glare filter.

+1 for laying off the ****... j/k
Anyhow, from what it sounds like you don't have a nearsightedness/farsightedness problem, what you have is a contrast sensitivity problem. Most if not all optometrists do not have a contrast testing machine but I know that UCSF has one. However, some some research online and see if there's any remedy to your problem. If there's no remedy, there's no point in paying someone to tell you that your eyes have a problem when you already know that.
