I hate people!

This is my rant and if you so choose you can make it your official I HATE PEOPLE rant thread.

Today's rant.

First off... I HATE VW's. I'm forced to try to diagnose and fix my wife's POS Golf on my own. So... the last code I checked was a misfire code. So I looked it up and did a search on the issues. From what I've read it sounds EXACTLY like all the coil pack issues VW is having right now and recalling. Our car is NOT on the recall list. So I go spend $200 on a coil pack, spark plugs and spark plug wires at a VW specialist shop.

On the plug wires it says 97-2000 VW golf. I say... hey I have an 01 are they different... no that's the part number. O.k. I say. Hey this ignition coil says golf gti engine code AEG on it. But I'm pretty sure the GTI and Golf are different parts. Do you know your engine code? No. It's a 2001 Golf GLS with the brazilian POS 2.0 liter in it. O.k that's the right part. O.k.

So... I figure this shouldn't be too hard... were's this isht at. Ohhhhhhhhh. I have to take this bracket off and move this huge useless looking thing attached to the air box... unplug this sensor and walla. Oh all the bolts are loose and were't greased when they went in and counter sunk. Lazy *** VW techs. That doesn't look like the right part. Hmmmm. Oh well I'll do the plugs and wire. Pull number 4 and pull the plug. replace the plug and go to put new wire on... hey that doesn't even fit in the hole... wtf. hmmm.

So yeah. It appears my wife's VW is all taken apart to replace a shot in the dark cross your fingers this works issue and now I can't put it back together because it's sunday and everyone that knows wtf is wrong is close.

Oh yeah... and my wife goes back to work tomorrow from maternity leave.

I can't find the damn engine code to see if it's the right parts or not. Need to track down the part numbers. Grrrrr.

I need to go buy a tool to get out the number 2 plug. Yeah. Other 3 are changed already. I'll probably reconnect everything to see how it runs. Then try and get the parts changed out tomorrow and fix it tomorrow night. Yeah.

Need to fix this car so I can fix my cars.
My car needs... brakes, idler pulleys, plugs, timing belt, clutch, tires. etc.

Then my caddy needs to get put back together. GRRRRRRR. Man I just want one car running with no issues.

ooh man I hate people!

I call sunny tools in san jose, because they're advertising some OTC brand gear splitter sets, and ask them if they stock any different OTC part numbers (6" split plate & puller). Guy says he doesn't but has a comparable tool at half the price. I then drive there from Livermore, since nobody in the tri-valley sells split plates and push pullers for transmission work, and to my dismay the "comparable" tool is some brokeback puller set that only goes to 3" o.d.

yarrrrr

Ray, I just changed my vacuum lines and coilpacks, I know the isht you're going through. But I got all 15psi back from having massive vacuum leaks and random misfires. Call up Streetwerke in Palo Alto in the AM if nothing works for you. Very knowledgeable, theyre the GST of the Euro world.

Also, call me if you need any help. Learning VW/Aud the hard way.
