Sweet, should have gotten in on this sooner. Anyone get any offensive/inappropriate adwords yet? I've only seen an ad pop up once, in an old archived message.

 

I got hooked up from my friend who works there.

I haven't gotten any junk in my gmail account. It'll stay that way too.

there are some really nice features. but with that said, i still use yahoo for important emails b/c gmail is still beta, don't quite trust it enough yet.

Yeah, a friend of mine knows an engineer at Google, they apparently have more to give out than the random "invite" links we regular users get. Google does say you'll get to keep your username after the beta is over (which is why I asked for one now instead of wait for the release stampede), but you're right, it is still in beta and you don't want to rely on it for anything important just now.

 

lol it was funny because I posted about GMail on April 1st (yah I know, bad timing), about them having 1 GB of storage space and everybody thought I was joking around It was not an April Fools Day joke foos!

 

Yeah that's when Google announced it. I think they did it on purpose cause they figured they would get more press time with everyone wondering whether it was real or not (1Gb? It can't be real! But they said it's not an April Fools joke. But it IS April 1...) Brilliant.
