talked to the redwood sports car club today about teaming up for a road rally event benefiting the boys and girls club of the redwoods. This will be a timed staged event. Anyone interested in participating/volunteering? Also for this to be worth it we need to form a club. To do this we need to agree on a name. FarNorCalRally something like that. Thoughts? Suggestions? I will have more info next week.
Just saying, there are a lot more cars in rally than just Subarus.

If you guys are seriously interested in participating- hit me up when I first post for it next year, some years we've run straight up to Mendo/Humboldt and more or less "started" from there, nothing says we can't do that next time, but this year is already pretty well set.
Oh and feel free to let me know if you need help writing or checking your rally when/if that comes together...

I want a subaru only group. I'm happy if there is just 5 members. I have no intention or want to have every riced out honda or toyota or whatever rice car be in the group. Subies only. And I found there is not enough interest in this area to plan any large scale rally cross.

As for the rally, given the amount of time since the idea was introduced and the lack of outreach, I find it hard to believe that you have tried very hard to make this happen. Psoper gets a 10 person rally EVERY YEAR, and I am sure he could get many more people if there was the logistic support for a bigger event. He even said he would be willing to lend assistance 2 posts ago...
As for the car club only idea, I can understand that. However, the Eureka ricer queer club aside, I have known a lot of non-subie owners in the area, and most of them are just other car enthusiasts just like us. In fact, all of the guys that I know who own modded Subies are pretty open minded with other cars...they just know that their cars are the **** as far as Imports go. That is, until an Evo, Supra, or GTR rolls up
I am confused. Do you want to start a club for the purpose of backing a rally, or are you just trying to start a car club?

I already have a "club" of Subie owners in this area. Most of us have lived around here a long time, and we have been at this Subie game a lot longer than you. In fact, you might take a look who created this thread 3 and a half years ago. We have been helping each other with our cars, as well as other things, for several years now.
I actually have experience with organization or racing events in Humboldt County. This includes securing a place to have the event, getting insurance, and outreaching enough people for the event to be a success. We even loaned out a couple race cars to get people started. We almost had a racing club going at Redwood Acres, who was going to donate a part of their grounds, until the typical "Humboldt Laziness" struck and it floundered.
The 2 or three meets that I have been aware of are not convenient for me, as I have stated several times. They are on days that I work, which means I am already driving 3 hours and day after working 8 at a very stressful and physical job. Any attempts to get the occassional meet moved closer...even to the south side of Eureka, have been met with negativity and laziness.
This is aside from the fact that my WRX was not running until sometime in July, so attending a meet would have been pointless for me.
If you care to review the previous pages of this thread, you will realize that I have offered several suggestions to you guys. If you were serious about getting a rally organized, however, you would be speaking with the folks that have done it.... including the ones who have already offered help in this thread.
It is too bad you are blinded by "Subaru snobbery" as well as ignorance and a **** poor attitude. Best of luck!!
So...what you're trying to say is that the people who have been in the area for a while, and have already established and organized themselves, are going to set up a meet on the southern end for us new comers to attend?
One big happy family? The more the merrier? Subi Luv?

Its pathetic really.... long story shortened.. the shop sent the suspension in for repairs. Only they sent it to the wrong address in canada when it was supposed to go to a rebuild center in California. Then after a couple weeks they get it back and send it to the correct place in CA and got it back a few weeks later non complete. They sent it to the manufacture in Canada and its there for another week. But everything else is done on the car just waiting on the Suspension. Sooo every week they say its going to be done for the past month and a half. Yea not going well. and cant wait to get it back!... atleast I have a rental (insurance paying not me) 2011 V6 6spd Camry lol but its good for the fam and doesnt wake them up in the morn.
