Wow! Where you in '02 with the "bugeye" impreza release? Same shizz different generation. Seriously though, the bugeye chassis was the ultimate failure and it's been downhill looks wise since then. While the chassis and other bits may be leagues better, the exterior has been nothing but hurting since '02.

I personally like the '08s and think it's a HUGE improvement looks-wise over the bugeye - '07 models.

what ya guys talking about 08's blend in? they blend in as much as any other year. take off the hood and wing and theres your standard everyday car. not to mention most wrx's dont even come with the wings, so take off the hood and theres an everyday car. most people dont like change and change the body but do we really wanna be like ford and the mustang? i think not! you need change at some point and it just takes time to grow on you

Legacy Sedan +13%
Outback (inc. Legacy Wagons) -15%
Impreza +24%

Tribeca +8%

Hmm, looks like the Impreza isn't doing so well now, huh?

Regardless of how much you HATE the Impreza, Brucelee, reality is that it's helping bring Subaru to more people...

...and like it or not, the goal of Subaru is to expand their market share. You should quit bashing them, and thank them for bringing more potential members to this board, and to your meet at Hammy each year.

Anyone want to stop by the santa rosa subaru dealer this weekend and check out the cars there. I have yet to spend any real amount of time looking at one up close or sitting in one. I don't like how the fender lines go from fender to fender. Those lines should blend into the front bumper and then start again on the other side of the car; giving it a more rigid look at the front.

I agree that subaru is doing the right thing to expand the market but I hate how they are doing it.

Brian, dude, I'll kick flip on your toes if you say the bug eyes and hawk eyes are ugly! When we skating again?

Roo, would you happen to know which car has better profit margins, WRX or 2.5i?

Maybe Subaru doesn't care whether it sells the WRX as long as it's selling 2.5i and Outback sport models with higher profit margins. Just a thought.

You should quit playing your "jump to conclusions" board game, it only makes you look like an *** hole.

I'm fine with the standard Impreza and it will continue to bring in the same people it always has, HOWEVER, the WRX was hit with the ugly corporate stick, it's not longer in the same market as it use to be and I fear that it will bnng in less enthusiasts like it previously has.

It's not just me that doesn't like the new WRX, not only is it ugly but it no longer has the edge on performance like it used to.

And in regards to bringing in new members, I'd rather have 2 enthusiasts than 10 hippies like yourself. I don't give a rats *** about hammy, I only did it for you people as a selfless act, I get nothing from that meet and is the reason I no longer gives two ****s about it.

Ding! You are correct sir. It's sad what Subaru did to the WRX.

I still like the STi model, I think its very nice, far too expensive though... like waaaaay too expensive.

I have an 08 STI down in the San Jose/Santa Clara area if anyone wants to check one out outside of a stealership and/or take a ride. I had an 05 WRX (Saabaru) previously, and imo the 08 changes are all for the better.

That said I still think the 08 WRX is hideous, the STI is the only acceptable looking trim.

Man, I'm in the downtown SJ area all the time, I might hit you up on that offer. I'd really like to ride in a new STi outside of the damn stealerships.

I dont get you brucelee, how is it going to bring any less enthusiasts? And "hippies" as you call them? And no longer has the performance edge?? Its got redesigned rear suspension with more potential, its lighter. Torque and hp peak at lower rpms than previous models. Its a 2.5l also with also more potential.. did i mention its lighter? yes. Longer wheelbase with a shorter body. Interior has better quality material that can last.

Im not here to bash on any year model wrx's, in fact i like them all. And thats what I think it makes a real enthusiast. But saying that its stupid and its gonna bring hippies is just plain stupid. Nobody liked the 06 model when it came out but look at everybody now. If you want the same body style for 8-10 years and a different bodykit then get a mustang.
