Jeeeeze, another massacre today in NY, 13 people killed an 30 something injured! This is the 4th massacre shooting this damn month (more like 10 days).

The shooting today took place at an immigration center where immigrants were studying for their green card exam. Most of the victims were Vietnamese, and the shooter was an Asian male, 5'8".


Most of the shootings were executed with pistols.


This is the most violence of this type that I've ever seen, really sucks. I say that they ban ALL illegal firearms! That includes pistols, shotguns, and "ASSAULT WEAPONS"!

What do you guys think?

aren't illegal firearms...already illegal? weird that he got into an ins building with any weapons, there's usually a check point at the entrance.

Basically, I think I am seriously tired of people doing stupid things with guns so that other people can be all up in arms about doing something about "assault rifles." I wish people would see that it is the fault of the HUMAN CRIMINAL and not the existence of the weapon that is the problem.

 

I think that if brucelee had been taking his citizenship class in that place the shooter might have gotten one shot off, but maybe even not- before being dropped dead in his tracks.

 

I was hoping everyone would catch my sarcasm, but apparently not.

Most crimes are committed by ILLEGAL firearms (Weapons that are stolen from houses, weapons smuggled in to our country from overseas, etc) which renders gun laws completely useless. There are soooo many illegal firearms out there in circulation, and lawmakers want to ban guns and take them from law abiding citizens so that they can't protect themselves from criminals who are using firearms that the law can't touch since they are not registered and already illegal... The best they can do to get those illegal guns off the streets is to bust people for drugs, or something else and then happen to find a weapon on them. I don't understand anti-gun folks who are adamant about ridding law abiding citizens of their right to bare arms when criminals still have firearms and always will, what can we do about criminals with guns if we are totally unarmed? The answer is simple, you can't.

If you were a criminal, and you have a choice of breaking into two homes. Lets say that home-A is occupied by a family who is completely against guns and don't believe in owning them, OR would you break into home-B which is a pro-gun family that believes in the 2nd amendment (bare arms) and thus owns firearms. Which house would you break into? The armed house? Or the house that isn't armed with more then a steak knife?

Yes, the chances of a home invasion robbery or something similar are pretty low, but high enough to where I'd want protection for home. Over the last 3 years there has been two in home robbberies in MY neighborhood, one house was two doors down! I live in a nicer area of Fremont, and Fremont has a low crime rate... What are you going to do if you're upstairs and a group of guys breaks in? If you have a pistol you grab that thing and get ready to use it! What do you do if you don't have any weapons? You let them take you/tie you up, or kill you.

Man, I sound like a broken record... But I hope you get my point. I wish more people were gun owners, I bet crime would fall greatly. In Australia when they banned guns, 5 years later the crime rate increased 400%!!! Imagine what would happen here? Man, I don't even want to think about that.

Some countries can ban guns and be OK since guns are realy rare to begin with so the criminals don't have guns, so by banning them everyone is on an equal playing field, but the USA is NOT one of those countries, there are waaaaaaaay too many guns out there on the streets.


These shooting spree idiots give all law abiding gun owners a really bad name. Unfortunate for us...

 

Best place to be is in a "Gun Free Zone" which is mostly in the prjects and no I am not being racist Look at all the statistics for Gun Free Zones, and if you ever see articles about what criminal are afraid of. Most criminals behind bars or on the street will tell you that they are more afraid of law abiding citizens that have CCW's and will only use a gun inside Gun Free Zones where they feel more safe since criminals are the only ones to haveor use guns besides cops.

My favorite quote from another board members signature is something like "I am the weapon, my gun is just the tool" no matter what we do firearms will always be one of those tings we frown upon.

Was it last summer that crazy person in the Dodge Durango went through Beverly Hills or LA area and mowed down several people and actually killed one or two? See a weapon is more then something that can send projectiles down range.

I agree it is sad that people go on a rampage and shoot others, I really hate those that kill their families or starngers only to end their own lives at the end. That is a cheap way out, if you want to kill yourself just do it and let the other people around live for goodness sakes!

hahaha, which is another reason I thought people would pick up on it... It'll be a cold day in hell before I say something like that and mean it.

 

So here is my simple solution. People who use weapons/firearms to commit crimes are going to find and carry the guns regardless of the laws that are in place to prevent them from doing so. The problem is that there isn't proper punishment to persuade these morons from committing violent crimes with firearms. If there were, we wouldnt see this **** happening so frequently. So why not make it easier for people to carry concealed weapons permits? At least that gives us, the good people of America, a chance to fire back. In this case, maybe there would have been less lives lost.
