Nope and it's still in good condition. Actually Ed & the guys up at EQ Tuning were fairly shocked by my car as to just how good of condition it is actually in when I took it up to get tuned.

awesome to see so many high mileage wrx's out there. So much for the bad rep on reliability.

Mine is an 04 with almost 187,000 on it. Original motor and tranny. I bought it with 10 miles on it.

I've put about 5,000 miles on my 2003 WRX wagon.

But I bought it used with about 115k, it's almost to 120k miles right now.

It's a long story that I probably won't share here. However, my 95k mile motor is in fantastic shape and still has great compression/leakdown numbers so it was a no brainer for me. It got the full cadre of 105k maintenance items done on it before installation at 94,xxx miles and it goes like an SOB. I am 100% confident in it.

Bottom line for me is that these cars are meant to be driven, not turned into time capsules. In that spirit, I wonder too - why does your almost-5-year-old car only have ~800 miles/year on it?

Your car has 8,***? how is my car much different? I have 3 cars and the STi is my toy, I don't need to drive my STi ever day to enjoy it. If I drove it everyday I would not have a License. Being married with a kid I don't take the STi out on family occasion's. I am a welder and not the best idea to bring my nice car to work when grind dust gets everywhere, you would be amazed how far it travels. I get so dirty sometimes from all the oil on the steel you can't get it off with out a shower and a good scrub! I bought a beater for 1500 three years ago and she's still ticking. Best idea I ever had was to buy a beater, keeps the miles off my other nice cars. I get 35mpg, how many you getting? I helping the environment out with this car and saving money on gas! I could go on more if yah like.......

I agree with buzz 100%, my 05 I got with 8 miles, took it to 45k before my friend ended its life via a tree. My current car only has such low miles because I kept loosing my job and needing a tune, etc. So it just sat. I can say with my 05 part of the time i was commuting 100 miles a day, and I still enjoyed driving an sti everyday so much more than letting one sit. I'm going to drive my car as much as possible now that I just got it ready again.

on the S or the XT? Been thinking about picking up a used S for the wife. Don't need 2 turbo cars sucking up supreme gas.
