Hi guys just wonedring how long it would take to install a cat back. Only ask becasue I'm trying to set-up some dyno time with ATP, since I cann't go on the 6th, to get some numbers on the new Borla hush system. THey just asked me how long it would take to install the catback, since I want to do back to back runs. Also by doing back to back runs to you think I would get good numbers? I mean does it not take some time for the ECU to learn that there is more flow now? I was thinking of doing back to back runs and then getting it dynoed a month or so later. What do you guys think.
thanks,
Jason

catback fun
A cat back install is fairly easy; about 30min. tops. One trick is to use WD40 on the exhaust hangers. this makes it much easier to get them off and then on again. Also the higher up in the air the car is the easier on your back it will be.

It's pretty straightforward. I got help only in the form of someone handing me the tools while I juggled the pipe underneath the car. The worst part was hooking it up with the Kartboy hangers, but it wasn't too bad (the factory hangers are really mushy soft rubber and stretch).

I'm working on getting a team. I'm picking up my exhaust tommorrow and I plan on practicing at home so I can do it as quickly as possible, since the email I just got from ATP said that for a half hour it gonna cost me $85 for 3 runs and an hour is gonna cost me $125. I'm gonna go for the hour of dyno time, unless you guys can recommend another dyno place.

I'd save your money/time and just get the final product dyno'd. ATP should know roughly what a stock wrx makes on their dyno.
A catback doesn't really do much with an otherwise stock exhaust system, 5-10hp. And you said it yourself that the ECU won't learn anyway (unless you do the "Vishnu Reset" in between).
Good luck!

-you'll need 2 high ramps
-a water bottle (to cool the exhaust quicker)
- two sets of gloves
-a bottle of break free or wd-40
-two same size box wrenches (14mm?)
-two (14mm?) ratchet wrenches with semi-deep sockets
-and an extra guy...
you'll have it switched out in 10 minutes flat.
