how long does it take an audio shop to...

Hey,

I'm getting a stereo system installed ASAP. How long do you think it would take an audio shop to install a HU, 4 speakers, and dynamat the doors? Thanks a bunch!

i really hope this doesn't cost more than 120 in labor. lol.

Dynamatting the doors will take a good long while if its done right. The HU should be a half our max, and the speakers no more than like and hour. The dynamat alone will be 30+mins per door.

I used to work at a car audio shop in the north bay and it usually runs about 65 to 85 dollars to install the HU with the wire harness and new pocket. Speakers are about 50 dollars per pair if they are not running new wires. The dynomat is hourly but 30min a door does sound right since they are already taking off the doors for the speakers.

I highly doubt it will be any cheaper than $120. Audio shops will charge a lot for dynamatting.

Key is learning how to take off the door panels... i'll keep my eyes open when they are installing.

Assuming you have a WRX, this can help in taking off the door panels:

Now you can even install the speakers yourself if you wanted. Good luck with the project.
