This is all I do. I was told your not supposed to just let them sit and warm up. Something about an oil feed line possibly not getting oil to the turbo or something.

I just keep my rpms under 3k and by the time I get to the freeway my car is all warmed up.

LMAO ahaha.

on a serious note, with modern cars there's no need to wait too long before driving it. I just shift under 3k and let the clutch slip a bit more until everything is warm. I know that for diesel engines it is better to not let it sit.

The only problem is that when it's REALLY cold, like 0 or negative, sometimes I have to double clutch, but this probably doesn't happen to WRX/STI trannies.

I whisper sweet nothings into her ear when I insert my key to turn her on. This is the only way to warm something up in the morning.

Warming it up before beating on it is definitely a good idea.

hmm this is a good question.. normally my car just sits & idle & then once it's warmed up, i go. but what is the "correct" way of warming up your car? is it really what the op stated?

remote start. parking in gear disables my remote start, its saved me many times from ramming into my garage door.

I idle the car until the temp needle moves, then I drive around below 4K rpms moderately going into boost. Depending on the weather I won't go WOT until I've been driving 7-15 min. My 2 cents.

well from what I've read, probably best bet is to let it warm up for a minute or so, then keep it under 3-4k rpms or out of boost until its at peak operating temp, until then no WOT
