how do ovens clean themselves?

i think thats how it works....or from what i hear from some instruction manuals....the oven will heat to a cetrain temp. around 500-800F or more and creamate everything and you just wipe away the ashes instead of scrubbin the hell out of those grates....yea i know....i do sell appliances....

The new ones have that self clean function.
The old ones need to be cleaned by hand with some strong *** chemicals. Most people get high and pass out during the cleaning due to the chemicals.

Actually, there have been self-cleaning oven's since the 50s.
Yeah, 1950s.
So like if your "New" oven, is, like, not the cheapest piece of crap ever made and newer than say, oh, 40 years old, it should be able to self clean. If not, sue your landlord, or smack yourself for saving $20.
Man, some of youse all must have really old gross ovens if you think self-cleaning is new.
