Cliff don't you worry... you guys will have just as much trouble keeping up as last year... haaa. I'm already 10 pounds ahead of where I was at at this time last year. If I can ender the season under 230 you guys are in trouble. Haaa.

I have a friend who - no matter WHAT - will always be 170lbs. He eats CONSTANTLY and almost all of it junk food. Then he started drinking and again, didn't make any difference. Like a human hummingbird.

I've always had a crappy metabolism. When I'm active I loose weight and build muscle easily but if I slow down AT ALL it goes so fast.
I got in to mass building when I was 18 and put on 40 pounds of muscle. Got friggin huge. Then got hit by a car. That's what started the whole deal.

You should take up something like boxing where it really is in your best interest to be as light as you can:
Nothin motivates weight loss like the prospect of getting your *** kicked lol. i'm serious. I mean it may be hard to motivate oneself to get into a regimen of fitness but getting your *** kicked is a great motivator.

Check out the latest issue of Outside magazine. Their diet is what I've rocked for the last two years, now I'm 6'1" and 190lbs with 9% body fat. My brain fires way faster than it used to, so do my reflexes. Jack your metabolism up naturally and you'll kick the crap out of everyone on the slopes

Which gym is that? Dude if you do BJJ it may jack your joints up and probably isn't as good for fitness - you get tired grappling but it's in spurts rather than a sustained fat burning cardio workout like the boxing or kickboxing.
Twisting leglocks (the kind that break legs) are illegal until purple and brown belt (4-8 years in). All leglocks are illegal until blue belt (2 years in). That's per International Jujitsu Federation rules using the gi, no-gi grappling tournaments are sometimes different but the worst injuries you can get are probably just hyperextended elbows and shoulders

I love boxing. If there was a decent boxing gym around here I'd get in to that but my doctor told me no jump rope at all right now. That's what I was doing but I injured my foot. I have a special insert being made right now. Stupid insanely high arches and overweight ***. I'm sure there's some great ones in watsonville but I don't speak spanish.
I think I'll probably just get consistent on the bowflex and ramp up my preseason work out for boarding. Combo of stretching and isolated core strength excercises.

7 cal/gram of alchy
4 cal/gram of carbs and protein
HOWEVER, carbs are your best source of energy and your body NEEDS THEM.
My advice, go to a dietician (not a nutritionist because anyone can call themself a nutritionist and they don't have the education dietician have).

oh, and the other key thing is BALANCE. This is why those low card/high fat novalty diets don't work in the long run and you feel like ****/have no energy while on them.

All these "diets" are born for failure.
The only one that I stand by is the South Beach because its not really a diet. Its more of a reprogramming of the way you eat and its really just common sense. Eat healthy. Eat frequently. Don't over eat. Exercise.
