actually alcohol is a sugar. theres about 7 calories per gram of alcohol.

If you juice the fruits yourself - that's entirely different. If you buy it at the store - I can guarantee you that its nothing but sugar water.

Ray - another easy way to kill some extra pounds - be sure you are sleeping 8 hours a night. I used to be an insomniac and giving your body only 2 hours of sleep a night is the ticket to pack it on.

My brother is always dropping what he calls colon blow. Basically fiber milk shakes at night. At least once a week. Maybe that's his trick. haaa.

And yeah I do fruits but the only juice I drink is cranberry for my kidney and liver issues.

word. That's part of what set me down this path. Was a deadly combo of...
desk job, an injury, no sleep and high stress... then toss in 3 nights a week of going out and drinking with the boys.

Now the drinking is down, the sleep is up (not all the way to 8 yet but higher than the 5 I was at), injury isn't too much of an issue anymore. Still have the desk job and the stress.

Yes, however I don't think the amount of carbs/calories in even an 18 pack is enough to blame for anything above an insignificant amount of weight when taken in moderation. Obviously if you are downing 18 packs a day - you have more to worry about than weight gain!

without changing your diet, 1 beer a night is good for 10 lb a year in weight gain.

You've seen me. I've met you a couple times over the years.

I'm still a pretty athletic dude despite the weight.

that's the irritating thing about my bro. He WAS downing 8 beers or more every day and at least a 12 pack on weekends per day and he still never went over like 210. ****er.

True, but you can burn the calories from 4 or 5 beers with a good sexual episode.

*wipes away tears of laughter* Yeah, you better get in gear, bruddah! Only 10 weeks till the New Year! The resorts should be in full swing by then.

Jordan definitely has the advantage w/ activity of his job. Although I'm scrawny compared to y'all, I noticed a bit of pudge a while after leaving my Costco gig.

With all of life obligations, I'm sure it's tuff to find time for workouts & whatnot. But every li'l bit helps... i.e. taking the stairs (I usually do this for 5 floors or less), push-ups/crunches during commercials when glued to the TV, etc.

I started my pre-season routine a few weeks ago. So far only running a couple miles a few days a week. I'm looking to add in some strength & flexibility stuff soon. [Murtaugh - Lethal Weapon]"I'm gettin' to old for this $#!t"[/Murtaugh - Lethal Weapon]

Good luck, Ray!
