How Bad is Stockton? (Crime, sketchiness)

Honestly, you just have to stay out of the bad areas. Downtown, south side and west side. I stay in the north and I leave my car unlock, sometimes forget to roll the window up and nothing ever happens. Hondas and "flashy" cars will be looked upon a lot tho.
It's just like any city, theres going to be ghettos and the nicer side of town . I came from sac and they have more bad areas there, the city is just bigger so it's spread out and people don't notice it.
As mentioned, brookside has multi million dollar gated community houses, morada, 8 mile rd all nice communities. I'll be happy to show you around town If you like. Basically northside is where you wanna be. Restaurants, mall, etc

Agreed. I live right around d the corner from him and nothing has ever happened in our neighborhoods. The media of course only shows you the negatives of Stockton and that's not what our city is about. If your looking for trouble or your into that lifestyle it will find you. Other than that my kids grow up perfectly fine here my wife is born and raised here and I've been here since 2000. No issues with me
Groups of red at the gas station and corner stores. Yeah not gonna get gas around there!

town isnt perfect, but a lot is overhyped. I have lived here all my life and have never had issues with my sti and now my frs. I even work right next to you on California at behavioral health. Stay out of downtown, east of el dorado if your really worried.
There is a shell on el dorado that is good and close by. Cops tend to hang out there and its in a decent area. If you want to get together I can tell you where to keep out of. Just be smart and dont leave stuff in plaine site, lock you glovebox or trunk and you should be fine.

I drive through Stockton quite regularly for work mostly Wilson way and Charter and I can say stay away from those places early in the morning and late at night unless your looking for drugs or hookers. Then that's the place to go.

Although a lot of the people in the dept said I'm making a good decision by parking below with my car.

im sure everything will be fine. you have insurance. No problem. the more you worry, the more something is going to happen.
I lived in Stockton from 2009-2012. My son and one of my daughters was born there at St Josephs. You can always park somewhere else and ride a bike there. I know a perfect place you can park down the road. Will pm you info if you are willing to ride a bike for a mile or so/catch the bus

Seems like my placement for clinical rotations will be at St Joesph's hospital which is at N California and E Harding.
How bad is that area?
Assuming the suggestions will be
-Good insurance
-Wheel locks
-Quick release lock
-Beater car
But seriously, gotta look into options, I won't be sleeping in Stockton though. Just through my shift rotations.

PS, security underground parking for $5 a day. I park my E36 there with 0 problems so far
