night is good because there're less cops and less idiots. just make sure you head up on a night when you know it's gonna be clear and dry. there should be plenty of those coming up.

I've been running a few times up there.

Night is only good for less cars(especially opposite coming ones, they are evil!!!) One time my friend almost went into a freaking long Mercedez doing 3-point turn in the middle of the road. That's crazy.

There are more cops at nights!!!

Day time is ideal for running REAL fast. I went there once during lunch time. Nobody there and it was lots of fun.

See you around! Mine is white, with version V wing and UK300 headlights.

highway 9 isn't my fav. road. From the bottum to the stop sign is just way to short and its mostly just high speed near the top. But if you are taking it fast and there are no other cars it's fun.

Hwy 9 is not a good place to play with. There's just no way to avoid having other cars on the road. People do live there so cars can come out of no where.

By the way, there are a Corvette and a 911 Turbo who would be willing to race with you. I think they live there.

The 911 Turbo is a no-brainer. The vette......don't even think about seeing its tail lights.

watch out for deer on those night runs up Highway Nine and Skyline. there are fewer cars a night, but make sure you've got yourself a good set of lights if you plan on running it quick. that said, i've driven/ridden 9/skyline/84/92 and everything else up there in the middle of the night, and it can be fun.

yeah, at least one person tends to crash hard enough to loose their life up there every year. it's sad to see it happen, largely because most of the time it's preventable. it's one thing to head up there for a fun drive/ride, but keep the speeds sane. save racetrack speeds for the racetrack.

how are these people dieing? My friend crashed there a few months ago but that was cause it was his first time going high speeds and first time on that road. Also he was in a ae86 with bald tires so that didn't help... near the bottum going down there are two turns linked toghter, its a right then a left. He slid through the first one then same on the next, overcorrected and went off the road into a tree. You can see if you go, the tree is ****ed up sorta. But most the parts there are side rails and other stuff... like not hamilton with nothing stopping u from going over the edge

tk5dan,
it's not usually car drivers that are killed on 9/Skyline. usually it's sportbike riders who run off and hit either the guard rail or a tree. hitting a tree at 50 in a car is a whole lot differant than hitting a tree going 50 with nothing but a helmet and leathers on.

I just happened to have an accident on higway9. I got a terrible understeer in a tight hair pin turn and I was sliding to the side barrier. My right front and rear fenders are all crached . the good thing is I am ok to walk away the car. my baby is sitting in the bodshop now.

the only part i've ever had to acually slow down a little in a turn was for the long 180 turn about halfway to 3/4 way up. I believe theres a 20mph sign or something. I understeer a ton on that turn but everything else isn't bad.

Those roads are through suburban areas, you are bound to run into local traffic. Before you kill yourselves, please try a few track days to understand how your car handles at speed. And how poor the stock brakes really are.

I live very near 84, near 4 corners and Alices resturant. During the summer, there is usually one biker killed per month and multiple car accidents. The bikers try to make the century club, average 100 mph from Hwy 92 to Hwy 9. Unfortunately, sh*t happens and these guys go down. Of course, we haven't even mentioned the bicycle riders.

Take the high speed to the track and see how good you really are. Check out groups like:
Nasaproracing or
Unlimited laps or
Northern Carlifornia Racing

These clubs offer all the speed you can handle, teach you to drive and help you to realize that street racing is not smart.

Check it, challenge yourself and see if you can handle the speed at the track.

the accident was happened just last night. I went there few times in the daytime. last nigh was my first run in the night time . i "too" trusted my tires(s-03) in a 180 turn and went in the turn too fast . then my car just slided to the side barrier this accident tells me that I should know car's limit and my skill better before I try something harder
