Yeah, and...

It's a good place to get popped by cops going the other direction. I remember doing around 110 on that road with an MR2. We slowed down to pass a lone car on the highway (going our direction), and saw a big cloud of dust suddenly rise from the center divider. I kept it slow, passed the lone car, while the MR2 just kept on blasting up the road. CHiPpie slowed as he got up beside us, then figured there's no way a mommy-mobile could be going that fast. We caught up to the MR2 about 3 miles down the road as the officer was introducing himself to the driver... LOL

Be careful out there.

lol highway 505.

I used to work @ honda of vacaville driving courtesy shuttle. I was on my way to pick up a customer who lived out in winters so I hop on 505 from Orange drive in vacaville.

There is literally no one on the road so I floor the 240hp Honda Oddessy minivan on the straight road. I hit 126 and the speed limiter kicks in so I just cruise @ that speed (yea I was young and dumb) All of a sudden I see a cop on the otherside, he turns around in the middle, luckily my exit was right there and by the time he crossed over to the otherside I had already exited and I saw him keep driving on the freeway, I guess he didn't see me exit

The pavement is nice and traffic isn't usually too bad, but I was going to say, 505 is notorious as a speed trap.
I travel it quite a bit and 9 times out of 10 there will be a couple cruisers and more often than not somebody getting pulled over.

They generally seem to be tolerant up to about 80, but I wouldn't go much faster along there, even with a good radar detector.

OP must have hit it on an off day, or else while the CHP was on a donut break

what he said...

the 505 has plenty of CHP; I drive it a couple times a month.

80 mph is about the max I'd cook it.
