Read as much as I can and learn as much as possible about the following before I do anything and then:
not necesarily in this order....
new wheels/tires...im thinking 17'' gold superleggas(sp?) dunno which tire.
new exhaust..... leaning towards cobb but I have to make sure it fits the downpipe.
downpipe..... no idea which one to get, i heard of people having trouble with cobb, leaning toward helix but not sure if it will fit my chosen exhaust. Installation scares me a bit.
ECU...most likely will get Cobb accessport.
I don't know if I will take it further than that, only time will tell.

Here is what that gets you, a year long subscription to the newsletter and discounts on track days, autocross and road rally entries, and it allows you to volunteer to work major track events like the Nascar, CART, and ALMS races.
If you abuse your vehicle on the track or in an autocross, just like if you abuse it on the road- and there is a failure due to that abuse, Subaru is not going to be inclined to pay to get it fixed, this is the case for pretty much every auto manufacturer out there.
But nowhere in signing up with SCCA does it tell you you must abuse your car, or even that you need to enter any of these events.
You do that and its your responsibility, it's not Subaru's or SCCA's.
The same goes for NASA, only Subaru doesn't pay your first year's membership.

If you want to be a believer call a dealership and ask them if it voids anything.

Congrats on the new car. I'm lovin' the 2005's. Went to Subaru of Santa Cruz for some warranty work and checked out their stock of '05. The new wheels and single tip exhaust are very sexy.
Welcome!
If you're interested in auto-x, there's a race at Candlestick Park this Sunday. I'll be running in the 6th rungroup sometime in the afternoon. I'll be there before noon if u wanna meet-up.

Mitsubishi EVO 8 owners have had their warranties voided when Mitsubishi went on the internet and did some searches. When they found out owners had brought their cars to track events, warranties were voided. That is fact, do a search yourself, there are a lot of pissed off EVO owners out there who have no warranties and didn't abuse their cars, and it wouldn't suprise me if other car manufacturers/dealers don't do the same thing after Mitsu saves some $.
My recommendation: don't put your real name or plate # on any SCCA forms, or for that matter don't broadcast your real name or plate # on forums where you might be talking about mods that can void your warranty.
So...good luck with the new car and don't drive off a cliff!!
