Anyone wana help with putting in a braided steel clutch line?

I've been feeling some play in my clutch lately and wanted to bleed the reservoir, and figured why not put the line on too now as I already had it laying around.

Have sparkling conversation/beer/a meal at an establishment of your choosing to offer in compensation, or a few odd parts laying around too if you want me to look.

I've fluid and tools (including a flared 10mm wrench), though a vacuum bleeder might be nice if you have one.

Available whenever you are, located in SJ (Five Wounds, 101 and Santa Clara Street) but willing to travel.

 

I can't time next week/weekend if you need help.

We can do it in my garage, plenty of light and work area.

Like I said there, if you can't figure that out, maybe Subaru is not for you. With a the clutch line it's just having another set of hands/foot, and preferably a bleeder, cuz who knows when it was last flushed on my car.

 

The slave is prone to getting air stuck in it on a manual bleed. May or may not be an issue on a clutch line removal. If this happens, unbolt it from the tranny and ensure the bleeder nipple is the highest point and that your drain line is long enough to get back down to your bottle.

 

Having read up on stuff like that I was a little more apprehensive to try it myself having never done it before, and my roommate being less than mechanically inclined.

Not sure where the weird feel in the clutch came from as I haven't touched that, and the new clutch and flywheel have been on the car for almost 10kmi iirc. We'll see what the flush does for it, and how the steel line feels. I don't even remember what my pre-steel line brakes felt like at this point (softer I guess).

 

Ill be doing this to my car too, once i buy the line and fluid.

I have some clear hose that i use to bleed brakes and what not so it will help.

pump x amount of times, leave foot on and open nipple...repeat and done

 

If there's an air bubble it won't be a weird feeling in the clutch... it'll be the clutch goes to the floor and stays there. You'll know, don't worry.

 

I just did a clutch line repair on my subie. I can help if you still need it replaced I got a bit of free time on my hands.

 

@ikearu Me and 91vtec got it done about a week ago, but thank you kindly for the offer! Did you go braided steel or OEM? What I think also helped on my car was the flush and cleaning out of the resivior. If you look back few days on the "What did you do to your car today?" thread, there's a (nasty) pic of it pre-clean.
