I took my car in for smog a month ago, wouldn't pass cause of a small leak in one of my coolant tank hoses. I decided to replaced them all with the blue samco ancillary kit.

I also have a koyo radiator and exhaust, but no other serious mods.

I just took it back to the shop and he wouldn't test it because he says, the hoses have to be black according to state smog laws! WTF!
Also said my radiator will cause problems with emissions as well.

I really don't want to go back and change out these hoses again, and go out and buy a stock rad.
Anyone have recommendations on where I might be able to go to get this to pass. Or do I have to go back to this spot again?

 

The smog guy is a moron... nowhere does CARB dictate hose color

I used to live in Oakland. The smog guys gave me a hard time too for having an SPT intake. Had too look up the executive order stating the SPT intake was CARB approved... it was a nightmare!

The smog guy had to look up my CARB sticker. Apparently my intake is only for an 02 not 03. He said he'll pass me this time but next time he won't...
