help on non-subie
i have a beater car, 1987 toyota cressida.
And the fuel gauge is dead.. it used to work then slowly just stopped working now I have to use my low fuel light to tell me to get gas.
Curious about how could I fix this? Is it the gauge or something else?
Before it died when I would fill up every time I hit my brakes and slowed down the fuel level would drop a little bit then When I gassed it, it would go back up to where it was... I am thinking maybe that ball in the gas tank? I am not 100% sure but I would love to get it working again.

its usually the gauge, or the sender, not both. I would recommend trying to find a replacement for either one at a junk yard, which won't be easy. Id just try to grab a gauge cluster and swap it. If it doesnt work go back and get the fuel sender from the same car.
