Help: Need a new rear window b/c of #$%%'in vandals

Totally random vandalism. Someone threw a rock into my back window and wrote something on my trunk. I don't have any enemies so must be some punk asses walking around just causing trouble. Anybody have any recommendations for somewhere around SF? My deductible is $500 so the least expensive would be better so I don't have to use my insurance.

My front windshield was cracked by some kids, it was parked, came back, big crack in windshield. I'm trying to find some shops, but your best bet is to just go on google or yellow pages and look for local shops. Cheapest I found for my 2005 WRX was $205.

After some calling around, turns out that STI's are made with lighter glass and '04's and '05's have a different Subaru Part # for back glass so I have to look for an '04 STI. Also, front windshields are generally less expensive than back windows. Just my luck... argh..

john just to let you know, when you park your car in the sun and you alreayd have crack there, it will sometimes expand and get bigger no one has to touch it.

also if its cold and you use your heater. Changing the temps of the window can make a crack spread.

Yeh, I hope you aren't implying that when I said the random people broke my windshield, that that made my crack bigger. It first started with a crack and it just expanded over time, but it was broken in the first place by random people, most likely teenagers.

I don't know if my first sentence makes sense or not, lol.

Try calling SafeLite. They do a lot of sublet work for body shops and insurance companies.

As for refinishing the trunk, give Denny @ Sunny Autobody a call. Tell him you know Ryan with the WRX and he'll hook you up. (415) 861-2333, located at 450 Potrero in the City. Come to think of it, I think they use SafeLite too so it's potential one stop shopping.

Do NOT get Safelite glass. It's cheap for a reason; it pits and scratches easily. My factory windshield looked better after 120k than my Safelite glass looked after 10k.
