Vandals!!!
In response to another thread:
https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...&threadid=7116
Chalk another one up for Daly City!
My car got keyed last night. Usually I haven't had a problem with anything like this because my car has been garaged for the last year. But a week ago my roommate got a new car so we've been switching who gets the garage. Wouldn't you know the first week of parking my car on the street - I get a keymark from the back by the hatch, across the fuel door, across both passenger side doors to the front fender. ARGH!!!
I am a strong believer in Karma, and this is not justified. To my recollection, I haven't pissed anybody off lately. I don't rev on anyone. And I like to think I am nice guy... So what gives?! Oh well...
Clicking around, i've seen $1300 repair estimates for the similar damage. I don't have money for that! Now the marks aren't too deep except for the one by the rear hatch. Suggestions? Orbital buffer and polish? Make an appointment with fanker?
Oh yeah...

Thanks guys, I'll look into the scratch remover stuff.
Cal, shouldn't your new name be 1fastCT9A?
Don, thanks.
Ed, I just found it this morning. I think it is covered, I'll just have to pay the deductable. Thanks.

lame indeed...
Sorry to hear that marc -- definitely take the car to at LEAST two shops and dicker with the insurance company until you can take the car to the shop of YOUR choosing -- they can't legally tell you otherwise, though they try every trick to tell you about "hourly limits" and "approved shops."
The reason you want to get **** with them is you don't want that paint blended badly -- especially if your car is silver, black, or any other metallic. White and yellow too, I suppose. Why should your resale go down due to bad painting that any buyer can spot?
And feel your pain -- to a lesser extent. My car got double egged night before last on a rare night spent outside. Luckily was still mostly wet b/c of dew, so I was able to get it off before it etched my paint.
Why do punks have to do this crap?
