Forced Induction. Seriously, I had to do a 5 page single spaced report on it, and it actually was pretty easy. First explain what forced induction is, why it produces more power, parts to make it more efficient, excess parts you need, applications of how it can benefit or not benefit (such as benefits of more power w/o adding lots of weight vs not having a flat torque curve), different types of forced induction, and problems with it.
If you think about it, forced induction can be extremely easy to expand into a huge report. I barely scratched the surface with a 5 page report, I wouldn't imagine 7 pages being that much harder.

So after talking with the prof. I decided that I'm gunna write it on modding cars in general and why people mod them. Thank god this is gunna be an easy paper
ninjas!
or
a comparison of deisel engines in contrast to gasoline engine combustion. that would be an easy 7 pager, + especially relevant with cleaner deisel engines coming into the market in the next 3 years. better than whining about global warming.

Well I guess he doesn't want something thats a commonly debated topic or something thats too straight-cut, so I think going with modding cars in general would be a good middle ground.
