then look at your own VCR and thank all the good people that allowed you to record someone else work.

then find anywhere in my original where i said i was go steal a copy of the song....
and FYI the home recording act discusses medium and devices it has NOTHING TO DO WITH FAIR USE. Why dont you go ahead and read up on what your arguing before you run off quoting laws that have not a damn thing to do with anything.

"In 1992, Congress passed the Audio Home Recording Act34 ("AHRA"), an amendment to the federal copyright law. Under the AHRA, all digital recording devices must incorporate a Serial Copy Management System ("SCMS").35 This system allows digital recorders to make a first-generation copy of a digitally recorded work, but does not allow a second-generation copy to be made from the first copy (users may still make as many first-generation copies as they want). The AHRA also provides for a royalty tax36 of up to $8 per new digital recording machine and 3 percent of the price of all digital audiotapes or discs.37 This tax is paid by the manufacturers of digital media devices and distributed to the copyright owners whose music is presumably being copied.38 In consideration of this tax, copyright owners agree to forever waive the right to claim copyright infringement against consumers using audio recording devices in their homes.39 This is commensurate with the fair use exception to copyright law, which allows consumers to make copies of copyrighted music for non-commercial purposes.40 The SCMS and royalty requirements apply only to digital audio recording devices.41 Because computers are not digital audio recording devices, they are not required to comply with Serial Copy Management System requirement.42"

apparently, your head is too thick to realize that i'm acquiring my software legally.

the thing with the original thread was the guy wanted to SELL a copy of something to people.

my legal precedence is AHRA and RIAA vs DIAMOND MULTIMEDIA (1999).

that guy's legal precedence? "it's out of print" and "i'm charging scooby snacks" (of course, originally, the guy wanted to charge money for it, but has since edited his original post...).

so, when it comes down to it. i have a legally bought software. under fair use, i can do it various things, for my own PRIVATE uses. just like you can make your own mixed tapes from your CDs.

now, when i start selling it, that's when i cross the line.

of course by that's guy's argument and subsequently yours, scooby snacks aint really money.

I still don't get how 50 Cent's song is appropriate for a 2 year old's birthday video.

she didnt know it was by 50 cent and had those "explicit" lyrics...

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

dude gomer pull your head out of your *** im throwing the same attitude you gave to mmboost right back at you . You want to pirate 50 cents song for your video production. Dont try to back the **** out of it now i caught your *** in a direct contradiction to your previous statements to mmboost about pirating and how bad it is blahdie blah.

You have yet to provide one shred of evidence other then wrongly quoting laws that dont apply to your circumstance.

**** your not even quoting them your refering to them.

Basicly i think your a ****ing kunt and i want to **** in your ****ing ear.
