that's the reason the MPAA, the RIAA and all other organizations is coming down for legit (and you cannot give me a reason what your going is legal) forms of archiving.
when that movie goes on the public domain list, then feel free.
otherwise, what you are doing is still illegal and doing it on a public forum... nice...
tell you what. why dont all you law abiding citizens tell what you do for a living.
i wanna do a simple study...

maybe you dont remember. back when CD-Rs were just starting to come along, the RIAA wanted to tax each blank disc.
why? they said they wanted to do that so it could stem the onslaught of piracy. and if that is the case, the tax would then go to the recording artists as a sort of PRE-payment.
now, take a look at HDCP and all sort of protection schemes that are in place because of all the "future" piracy that these groups believe will happen.
in fact, as short as 6-8 months ago, CBS threatened to stop their HDTV broadcast if the FCC did not allow the copy inhibit flag to be present in the current standards of a digital television. thank goodness they folded. but there are still tons of schemes out there being thrown for the sake of protecting digital content.
now, as a consumer, would i like all sort of hoops i must go through in order to record any broadcast out there?
hell no.
but it's out there. just take a look at the steps to LEGALLY copy a DVD for one's own archiving purposes. it's a headache.
btw, dont forget to list what type of job you do for my study...

if you wish to break the law in a public forum, then that's your perogative.
before you edited your original post, to me, it sounded like "blantant disregard for the law."
maybe you should have taken it offline via email or PM where the PUBLIC cant see it.
and i hate to say it, but by listing those names, you might end up making a list of people that could be charged as accomplishes after the fact.

please quote the exact law that states that you are able to use music THAT YOU DO NOT OWN A COPY OF for a performance. (which is what a video is considered, even if it is a family video)
*waits*
prove me wrong, come on dick you are the one who says one thing then does another.

go ahead and google the HOME AUDIO RECORDING ACT of 1992.
then read it.
also read the infamous "sony vs mickey mouse" decision that opened the doors for VCRs in late 70s and early 80s.
then look at your own VCR and thank all the good people that allowed you to record someone else work.
then find anywhere in my original where i said i was go steal a copy of the song....
