Its not hard at all. Pop of the radio bezel and unscrew about 4-6 screws that hold the radio, disconect the harness. Put the new harness on to your cars oem and you just have to match up the colors on the wires! The dvd bypass is a bit more complicated but not to bad. I did my clairion dvd deck in about 1 hour, but Im in hayward not san jose.
If you take it into frys or curcuit city they wont bypass the dvd player either. You usually just have to run the ebrake wire to a toggle switch then ground it. Worked on mine. If you cant find some one to help PM me and maybe we can arrange something. There is an install fest on the 18th in fremont, if you can make that then we can put it in. Check the meeting forum.

if you want, go to circuit city. they even sell a harness that plugs to the head unit itself. the other end of the harness is a universal plug.
then you buy the harness that connects to the car side. and the other side of this harness is also a universal plug that connects to the harness above.
same price as the normal harness.
so (at least for me) around $30, you have a really quick PLUG AND PLAY harness system that essentially plugs into the vehicle side and the head unit!
no crimps or soldering.

installing is a piece of cake... and so is DE-installing...

I dont install kenwoods and every company does it differently. If the kenwood has a park wire you can ground it anywhere on the chasis really.
As far as the other wire harnesses besides the main one, do, you have a factory amp or sub? that might be the wiring for it.

Don't buy a bypass, not needed with a kenwood. Just wrap it around the black ground wire, tape it off with electrical. Thats all I did, mine works like a champ.
