Help! Flashing CEL, Rouch Idle

Hey Guys,

Been a long and great journey in my 02 Subie WRX. I have just about 148,XXX, mods are Upipe, Turbo Back, and Cobb Accessport Stage 2 tune. Last night coming back from Oakland, I threw a Flashing Cel, about every 2 minutes it would be Solid, and then start flashing, every once in a while it would go away. This morning I pulled the codes and this is what I got.

P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire
PFFFF - have no idea
PFFFE - have no idea

From my research, my options are plugs, coil packs, wires. But it has a pretty rough idle, still runs pretty strong, but I feel like one of my cylinders isn't running. It has been about 30K since my last plug change. I had the whole 105K tune up done then also.

Am I looking at something costly, being unemployed and not having a running car is no bueno for me right now.

Any ideas guys, options, before I take into LIC.

TIA

- Brandon

Is doing this an expensive tune-up?

Yes.

But first things first....get the car properly/professionally diagnosed.

definitely not cheap...

but it's probably not a bad idea to do the stuff you listed anyway... I had similar problem around the same mileage. Did all you listed and then some... and at the end needed a valve adjustment...

Just curious what the result of this was. The exact same thing on my 2004 WRX Stage 1 EJ205 on my way to work. The engine had a light rod bearing knock around 147,xxx miles and now it has 174,xxx miles.

Epic Thread bump, my man

I don't know if the OP is even active here anymore. I'd take the advice given to him, take it to a good subie mechanic.
