So my headlights are looking a little ugly and yellowish and was wondering if anyone on here has done a restoration on their own lights? How you go about it? Is sanding required? Thanks in advance..

I just use meguires plastic wax. Got it at pep boys. Works like a charm on my 04 wagon, takes the haze away and the yellow. I use it once a week when I was my car.

mine were pretty messed up and required wet sanding. i wet sanded them with 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, and then used meguires drill attachment and plast-x. took awhile and a lot of elbow grease but they looked great afterwards.
A wax will in no way remove any blemishes from an affected surface. Waxes have no abrasives in them. Are you positive it is wax? Are you sure you are not talking about a polish such as Meguiars plastic-X polish?

I use this brand... I have done three sets of headlights and they all turned out great. I think I originally got the kit at the Kmart in Rocklin but the last set I got off of ebay.
This kit will definitely require more elbow grease then a kit with a power drill attachment.

2 grades of extra fine sand paper, 2 types of rubbing compound and a finishing clear coat are included.
The best part is that it has a lifetime warranty... so if you ever need to do it again, you get another kit for free. I have put about a year and a half on the last set of headlights without noticing any new hazing...
Just my .02
