Exactly, since the clutch has to engage vs. instant response from an electric motor.

eBay: Search for 'Associated TC3' [add variants such as RTR, Roller (rolling chassis, no electronics, etc)]. These TC3's are the best platform for drifting IMO. Just get some wheels you like, get some PVC or ABS piping from Home Depot (cheap), cut to fit the width of the wheel, glue, and you're done.

I think I've seen one of their first vids. It was pretty sweet, but I think this one is better. Damn, makes me want to bust out my old RC.

Thumbs up

Actually for Electric or Nitro the TC3 is one of the best cars out there period not just for drifting. So many folks have them that parts are easy to come by and there is enough setup gurus out there that you can be pretty competative right off the bat. The Tc4 is different and will take a little while for people to start running the new platform.

I used to play with an HPI GC back in the day. I still have the shell. It was a friend's car so I gave it back.

i believe the yokomo car is belt driven, that would be bad for drifting. especially since the belts on the older yokomo's wore out quickly (i had various levels of the mr4-tc). a TC3 would probably be ideal since it's shaft driven and can handle insanely high powered motors.

as for electric vs. nitro, you probably couldn't drift a nitro very well, they're not even close to an electric when it comes to "punch".
Actually the Yokomo drift kits are shaft driven. They also sell a complete nitro drift car package.

Yeah it's basically a stripped down version of the competition version (Yokomo SD with carbon fiber chassis and bits)
