HPI makes a killer STi body (MY04). Yokomo makes a nice set of drift car bodies as well.

If you guys want to save money or don't have the cash to buy those special tires, go down to the Home Depot and get some PVC or ABS tubing. Super cheap and lasts a long time.
I believe that's what those guys in the video use. (greyish tires=PVC)

the yokomo tires are rubber with plastic "cages" that fit into ribs on the tire.
i believe the yokomo car is belt driven, that would be bad for drifting. especially since the belts on the older yokomo's wore out quickly (i had various levels of the mr4-tc). a TC3 would probably be ideal since it's shaft driven and can handle insanely high powered motors.
as for electric vs. nitro, you probably couldn't drift a nitro very well, they're not even close to an electric when it comes to "punch".

XRC had a cool article a couple of months back on taking a standard electric RC car and making it into a drift car. They used Temaya's and TC3's. These kits aren't expensive, and you don't need to spend tons of money on an expensive ESC or engine. The standard 540 that comes in the TC3 RTR is fine.
They got some sweet scale looking bodies, and did up pipes, and even lights. It looked awsome.
I am a nitro guy though so going to electrics doesn't seem like the right move...
I am actually saving up for a TTR S3 buggy..
