Sean, I bet the allure of the BAIC culture that you once thought was the coolest thing since crotchless panties, just isn't that cool anymore. You've moved on. Now the annoyances are that much more annoying. Stupidity is much more stupid. What was old yesterday, is really old today. It'll be even older tomorrow.

When we see a WRX/STI we don't know if they are enthusiasts or not..so I take my chances and wave at every Subaru I saw..I stated in the sightings thread that I waved to a women in a silver wagon..she looked at me and sped off..I was like did she think I was hitting on her..

i drive fast once awhile, but only when no one is around. and my meaning by fast is like going 90 and some time hit 100 during late night. day time during traffic i never try to cut lane and go crazy.

not just young people who does that, i have seen a lot of old people drives like that. but i do HATE rice up wrxs. i hate it and hate it. i really feel like roll down my window and tell him that the car is UGLY. i just dont get what people see in those rice cars.

am i off topic? lol

I wave at just about everyone with a subaru. Its just the nice thing to do. I have seen ALOT more ricey suby's out now a days. I'm geting alot more people when I wave they speed by followed by loud annoying sound of a BOV. I just try to be friendly. I do have to admit my car is a bit ricey. I dont drive like a **** hat though.

Sold the wrx becuase I started to see too many kids driving them and felt like a teenager.

Now I own a forester and get the looks from the old folks!

Nothing like an STI that can haul all of my crap!

It happens with any good thing. BARF used to be a bunch of competent riders sharing their luv for going through a set of pucks in a day, now it's more about who can do a better stoppie, and cut traffic for s@$ts and giggles. The only upside to douchebag squids is a sloppy rider is more apt to only peel his own skull, where a douchebag in a subby is pretty likely to take someone else down with his silly bum.

My only visible mods on my 06 WRX wagon are my 04 STi BBS wheels, 2 small track map stickers (laguna seca, thunderhill), and an FRX sticker in the back. Most of my mods are not visible from driving near me... except the rear sway bar and gold whiteline endlinks.

Would you wave at me if you saw my car? Or am I too "stock" looking? Or am I just too old looking? (I'm mid 30's)
+1 for all my cars minus the stickers; guess we won't get alot of waves. I always liked the sleeper look where the internals had all the mods and other than rims; it's as stock as it should look.

I will say this, since becoming a Subie owner or knowing friends that own them; this community is the most friendly at least when it comes to acknowledging other Subie owners. At least a wave, nod, peace sign goes out. Hell I didn't understand why the Rex owners used to give peace signs even when I drove my MR2.

Either way street ricers should be forced to take an HPDE or auto-x. If a session converts them over that's one less dangerous driver off the street.

It all went DOWNHILL after Shiv left

Over the years the BIAC has changed..there are still some old timers and great shops like LIC..but it looks like the WRX/STI is the modern day Integra..

You kinda almost have to expect that since prices have come down and more cars are around..Punk kids can now afford them.

(People other then punk kids please don't take it personal)

I don't get it...you guys say you love subies but all you do is complain because teenagers try to buy them...if a teenager wants to fix up his car and make it ugly then so be it whatever floats his/her boat...the way I see it is teenagers always want try to be older than they are...and try to get girls/boys attentions by the kind of cars they drive...teenagers try to drink beer...should I stop...no...I love football..but so do kids and teenagers...should I stop watching...no

I guess what I'm trying to say is you can't control the outcome of certain things you just have to let it be and do things your own way...

you see speeders on the freeway...do nothing except get out of the way...thats what police are for...they get pulled over all you can say is I told you so...

(no offense to the responsible teenagers..because i know some of you are)

I couldnt agree more than that, it seems that we are in the same page, if some of you guys want to speed in public roads at least do it were there is no inosent drivers like back roads or the roads near the fields, and try doing it were there is no houses so the folks that live there wont get upset, trust me I know...

AS much fun it is to drive Sti or EVO it is getting tougher by the day. I drive the evo, some douche in a WRX want to race , I drive the STI an evo will cut me off to see if I will follow. Back when these cars were new , only older people could afford them, bar the few rich luck one's. Anyways I park those two mostly now and drive my stock looking 335. Actually considering selling both to just keep two trailer queen race cars.
