I'm going to go ahead and say this thread was not NEARLY as epic as it had the potential to be.

I know this may be hard for most of you to understand this, but I'm probably one of the youngest Suby Owner on this forum. Yes I'm only 18 and have a WRX. But I do not trash it, race it, or act like a spoiled ****. I think street racing is completely stupid. I drive very cautiously and I actually take care of my car. I'll admit, I didn't pay for the whole car, but all of my mods are installed by my friends and I and I paid for all of it with my saved money. I drive the speed limit and obey the law. The reason I say this is to try and show not ALL teenagers drive like crap and are street racers. I am still in High School, so you can imagine the **** I go through with ricers. I've had many hondas, acuras, trucks, and even subarus rev and try to race me. Some idiot did a burn out on the school property to show off. Stuff like that makes me embarrassed to say I'm a teenager, but it's not something that I am responsible for. If you want to still think all teenagers are the same and drive like complete morons, go ahead, but I don't like how people stereotype all teenagers because most of them are idiots. I have to agree myself, a lot of teenagers need to learn how to drive, but a lot of teenagers will never change. That is all I wanted to say.

I also wave to other subaru owners who appreciate their cars

My only visible mods on my 06 WRX wagon are my 04 STi BBS wheels, 2 small track map stickers (laguna seca, thunderhill), and an FRX sticker in the back. Most of my mods are not visible from driving near me... except the rear sway bar and gold whiteline endlinks.

Would you wave at me if you saw my car? Or am I too "stock" looking? Or am I just too old looking? (I'm mid 30's)

I get that too. Whenever I see a Subaru, if it's bone stock or an old person/mom is driving it, I don't wave. If it is modded, I'm like cool, so I try to wave, and I usually get no response Lol, Idk I rarely ever see Subarus near me, but I like to wave to anyone with a Subaru.

I feel you on that. I used to give the way to every suby I saw when I first got my car. I stopped because for awhile, I would wave and they would speed next to me and try to race. so now, I dont wave unless I get waved to first.

I have had my car since 2004 and never had visual mods until about 3 months ago, but I was still getting waves. Now that I got the Mods I get more waves. So I just wave at every single person who has a WRX/STI because they are a fellow Subaru enthusiast

But there's so many people with WRXs and STis that AREN'T enthusiasts. Especially the WRX. It's just a reasonably priced AWD car to them to get from point A to point B.
