Have Impreza owners changed in the Bay Area?
I remember a few years back this website was full of mostly older mature adults,
who were pretty much completely against street racing and speeding on the street in general. If you wrote about racing or simply just speeding you were immediately flamed and told to take it to the track. With some of those owners now moved on, being replaced by younger owners it seems that the Subaru crowd is slowly changing. Now a days I see more suby's racing around then I do not. The most recent an STi flying within a foot of my fathers bumper trying to "race" us while on the way to my grandmothers.
Back in early 2004 when I had my WRX, there were only two of us in town. When I sold it in late 2007, I knew about ten guys who have WRX/STi's. Five of those guys crashed their previous cars while street racing and replaced them with Subaru's. Are these the new generation of Subaru owners?

Yup. More spoiled kids, more idiots, more people who can't follow rules/laws...
Not much we can do about it. I'd say most of the stupid ones aren't on the boards, but some are.

It's not just the Bay Area. It's every where.
When they first hit the US, a WRX was still a bit out of the price range of most kids. It wasn't that the kids didn't want them, but in most cases they simply couldn't afford them or talk mummy and daddy into getting them one.
Now that they've got a few years on them, you can get them used for 1/2 what they were new. Putting them in range of the younger drivers. Parents are still stupid.. but whatever...
If you were to look at the average age of buyers of NEW WRX and STi's, it might be slightly younger just due to the popularity of the car, but I'll bet it's not that far off of what it was a few years ago.
