Julius Johannes Ludovicus Ritter von Payer an Austro-Hungarian arctic explorer and an Arctic landscape artist, was born 2 September 1841, in Schönau (Šanov) near Teplice, Bohemia (now Czech Republic). He died on 19 August 1915, in Veldes, Upper Carniola (now Bled in Slovenia)....
