Hail in Santa Clara

Was anyone "lucky" enough to experience that hailstorm here in Santa Clara ~12:30pm? I was driving back from lunch when I was caught amidst that onslaught of dime/nickel size ice *****! What rotten luck. I made a b-line for the nearest tree to take refuge under the canopy. What kind of crazy weather is this?!?!?

Now I have to inspect the car for dents...a few is fine. I just hope I don't have dozens of them.

this is not directed at you, it just reminded me of the news:

i was watching the local news last night (ktvu i think), and they were interviewing people about the weather. everyone was all pissed off. what i dont understand is why people were getting mad. what are they getting mad about? who are they mad at? i almost felt like the weather man was apologizing for the weather. its not your fault dude! its called ****ing nature people. and its just rain. its like they were blaming the weather man or cameraman.

A standup comedian had something like this in his set. They always blame the weather man for bad weather "It'll be raining today," "Thanks a ton Mr. Weatherman."...but they don't blame the anchorman for other bad things...."Someone was shot in south central LA today," "Jeez Mr. Anchorman, what did you DO!!!"

no offense taken. i was just b*tchin' about the erratic weather pattern. i understand that to "some" people, this is all a part of the transient weather patterns. however, it has been a very long time since i experienced a torrential downpour like yesterday's as well as today's hailstorm. in the southeast, these hailstorms are common...probably once every few weeks? here in CA, i'm used to and like the consistently pleasant if not predictable weather.

it was actually sunny when i left the office @ 12:15pm....15 minutes later, with no noticeable change in weather, my car was pelted by ice!

no offense to you either, but it's always easier to be indifferent when your car is parked under covered parking or if you weren't subjected to the ishtty weather.

I for one am happy we are getting a lot of moisture. Get the lake/res water levels up. Fresh water resources up. Etc. maybe restore some of our overfarmed farmland. Plus...strawberries are BOMB right now.

Plus..it's spring..this is the time where the rain turns to sun.....gradually.

Another month you'll be *****ing about how hot it is.

Luckily, today I went home for lunch in So. SJ. I'm glad that I missed that part of the weather. Today is scoring points with the diff. weather that is happening all in one day...? It's like passing clouds with a loads of overfilled buckets of water, and then it's sunny again.. >?

I welcome the rain, I just wish it was a bit more consistant like rain the whole day or maybe 3 days straight. On my trip to work, I see sunshine, light sprinkles, to sunshine to stormy rain to sunshine again..all in one 50 mile trip!

I heard we already got ~170% of the annual avg rainfall this year. But I can remember many other years where we had more.

los angeles is 1.12 inches from setting a record for the month set like 140 years ago or something like that.

they're getting rain today and a bit tomorrow but unless the storm is a freak they are gonna fall short...but still...they got over 35 inches of rain this month. More than double average.

it's been a pretty crazy year so far for moisture. But I'm sure the summer months will balance it out.
