H6 Legacy rear brake upgrade

Hi all,

Wondering if someone can enlighten me regarding the H6 Legacy rear brake upgrade for my 2002 WRX. I'm interested in this mod, and as I understand it I'll need new rotors and different rear bracket supports for each side. Since it's a vented disc replacing a solid disc, will I also need different calipers? Anything else I might need besides what I've outlined (dust shield, etc)? And if anyone's done this upgrade and can comment on it's effectiveness, I'm all ears. Thanks.

Andrew

The 'H6' upgrade uses larger diameter solid rotors with legacy caliper brackets, not vented rotors. The Legacy GT rear brakes use the larger vented rotors and different calipers/brackets.

Subaruwrxparts.com has several OEM brake upgrades listed, it helps to just stare at this page awhile to figure out what is what:

Cool, thanks for that info. Any idea how much larger the diameter might be?

Great info, thanks. So it sounds like I just need the rotors and brackets, and then trim the backing plates.

Anyone think this isn't a worthwhile upgrade for the price?

Stock WRX rear rotors are 266mm the 'H6' rotors are 290mm.

It is a great upgrade for the price. All you need are the brackets and rotors. It would be much easier to just completely remove the dust shield than to try to trim it. Let me know if you have any other questions because I just did the upgrade a few months back.

Hmm...

$240??

I think that's the price for the rotors and brackets.
