How old is the Kimber? Does it have MIM parts?

What is the liability release regarding private (person to person) gun sales? I feel like its too easy a way around the system.

^ I believe for registering, you would take it to an FFL and they hold it for 10 days. Im assuming that during that time the liability release would be taken care of.

Great looking Kimber flatline! I know someone that has been wanting one for awhile. Ill let them know about your sale. Where is "Land of the Dead"?

PPT (private party transfers) is the ONLY LEGAL way for one person NOT RELATED to another to transfer a firearm.

it costs $25 ONLY from an FFL. so dont pay more than that. kalifornia has set that price.

you still have to wait ten 24-hour periods.

so this is not a way to get around the "system".

also, make sure the FFL wont charge you tax. after all, the seller supposedly paid tax for the firearm already.

btw BIG 5 will do a PPT...

btw #2, the buyer will still need to fill out the standard 4473 form, and go through the background check also.

I'm hoping to find about $650 under the couch cushions when I get home, that + the money in my pocket and we'd have a deal

MIM = Metal Injection Molded parts. At one point Kimber was using MIM'd barrel bushings. Not sure if they're still doing that.

Usually higher end 1911's have all forged internal parts. No MIM.
