I know that if you have a concealed carry permit in Oregon you CAN go on school property.

Here's the link to the firearms division:

Hope that helps.

trust me.
1000 feet. public institutions.
i know... i work in one and last time i went to the range and was too lazy to go home to dump eveyrthing, i made sure car was parked WAYYYYYYYY beyond the 1000 feet...
what's even nuttier, is if the dorm you are in is ON school grounds, guess what. no firearms!
for easier ways to read the silly firearms laws in kalifornia, go to a gunshop and picked up a book called "how to own a gun in kalifornia and stay out of jail" or something to that effect.
the dude who wrote is is a lawyer and breaks down the laws into something you and i can understand.

Yea, there's Cali and then the United States. Two different countries. Not that I see any reason to be bringing a gun to school or near one for that matter. School is where I went to flirt with girls, not shoot stuff...lol.

I believe it is carrying the weapon near the school. Inside your house should be fine.
And for those Kali peeps, read closely if you are a registered member of a gun club you can carry while traveling the most direct route to and from the club. As a matter of protection for your collectible item...

Don't stress.
School or not, I’ve never perched my rifle out the window or cleaned my arsenal in the garage for all the passer-bys to see.
I mean the only time you'll be taking them outside is when you go to the range or hunting. And what? They'll be exposed to the world in their cases for all of ten seconds? Big deal. It's not like they're loaded and it's not like your ammo is in the same location (at least it shouldn’t be).
Even if a cop drove by as you're doing a gun juggling act to your car, the very worst thing he'll do is slow down to sneak a peak or ask if you're going to the range. May even have a good gun conversation with him. Unless you're in a trench coat with a Che Guevara shirt and a bright pink mowhawk, there's nothing to worry about. There's no denying it's your house either. The front door is still wide open and your car is in the driveway.
**** them.
