Guide to selling a car in CA?
Can anyone point me to a guide to selling a car in CA? I'm mostly just wondering what I need to do, what forms I need to fill out, etc. The DMV site only served to confuse me -- for the seller it only says you need to fill out one form, but for the buyer it says to get a bunch of stuff from the seller that the seller section didn't say anything about . . .
I guess the main thing I'm wondering is do I have to get it smogged again, or is it good enough if it's currently registered (smogged a year ago)?
Everything is more complicated in CA!
And in case you're wondering, I'm not selling my WRX, I'm selling the Toyota Pickup it's replacing.
Thanks!

You have to fill out one thing at a minimum. The title.
You also HAVE to get it smogged...or at least within 90 days of the sale date. The shop electronically transmits the results to the DMV, and then still charges you $8.95++ for the certificate.
It's optional but usually a good idea to type up a Bill of Sale (with the VIN, explanation that there is NO warranty, etc, etc)
Good luck, it's easy!
