w00t, just a little while till GST opens and I can head on over there and pick it up.

I'll do a full video report when I pick it up to show you how easy it is to install and how nice it looks when finished, as well as how the driving position changes from the factory STi V5 seats (which are still much sportier then the USDM STi seats) to the racing EVO 2 seat.

Look for a video sometime today.

Shame that you would want to spend money on such a lousy factory seat, have you thought about getting an aftermarket driver seat? They make seats in all shapes, sizes, and colors, so regardless of how small or large you are, you can find a great seat that fits you. Not only does the seat hold you in much better, but it changes your driving position and lowers your center of gravity which helps with handling BIG TIME. It just completely changes the feel of the car (in a good way). By now you've gotten used to the car and maybe sometimes it feels a bit boring? That's the perfect reason to swap your seat out, it's a total breath of fresh air and gives your old ride a new life... I know I sound like I'm exaggerating, but really I'm not... Ask any bloke who has undergone a seat swap in their scooby and they will agree with me, it's probably the best modification you can do to a car (bang for buck). There's a lot of things you can do to a car but nothing as significant feeling as a seat... Sure you can do a motor swap and gain 300hp, but that costs a lot of money, whereas a seat is really inexpensive compared to how much performance you get out of it.

If I could only have one modification done to all my future cars, the same mod done for the rest of my life and nothing else, I wouldn't even blink before I said "upgraded sport/race seat". Yes, it's THAT great and THAT significant.

It's amazing how much body roll the stock seats are responsible for. Of course the seats don't add actual body roll, but they make the car feel like it has far more then it really does since you sway in the seat. If you're in a proper seat that fits your body correctly, you will notice that the body roll is decreased by a HUGE percentage (well, felt body roll). It honestly feels like you just upgraded your suspension to some really nice coilovers or something, no joke.

Sitting lower and not swaying around in your seat like you do in the stock unit changes everything significantly, and when I was auto-xing back in the day, auto-x times decreased majorly because I was comfortable driving and didn't have to battle the car, I was just planted in place and just had to turn the wheel, simple as that... It's def the best modification you can do for your car (for the money).

I know that was really long, and I apologize for the long winded post, but I am a huge fan of sport seats, and for good reason, I wouldn't sit here and write a novel about something that didn't deliver. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the Recaro or Sparco (or somewhere that has both and more) store where they have the seats in stock so you can sit in them, get a feel for something you really like and that fits you well and take that leap of faith and buy it! Think about how important a seat is to your car. It's the one thing you CONSTANTLY touch when driving, it's what your body connects to the car with, it's your direct link to the car, so why not have a really great one? I didn't realize how major of a role seats played until I actually got one and was able to drive around with it, only then did I realize how amazingly important seats are! People always told me, but I always took it with a grain of salt.

Now you know and knowing is half the battle.

I just got home from GST where I (with the help of the amazing Keith) installed the seat.

First impression was: "Oh my god! This is AWESOME!!!", it's soooo precise feeling, not super padded or soft (its still soft, but much firmer) and holds you soooo perfectly that you feel like part of the car. The whole car feels totally different, in a much much better way. If you're not into cars and performance, you wont like a seat like this, but if you're into performance and great handling, you will love a seat like this.

The video didn't turn out worth a damn so I'll have to get something for you guys a little later, but I had to post up about how happy I was. The car just feels amazing right now! All the greatness that was lost in the super wide/loose stock seats is returned in these great glove-seats!

I'm VERY impressed and really happy that I chose to buy these seats. They are more solid then any other seat I've ever seen, even Tommy commented on how solidly they are mounted and how it's even more solid then on the race car. Everyone that was there was impressed and was looking at the seat and such... It def stands out with it's huge white "SPARCO" banner on the headrests.

I don't know how to explain how the car feels right now, much more rigid/fitting/solid as well as fitting you perfectly so that there is NO sense of body roll or sliding around what so ever. It's a great seat and I'm super happy with it.

Big thanks to Tommy and the crew of GST for helping me out yet once again. These guys go out on a limb for their customers and will do anything to make someone happy (sexual favors included). I don't know what I'd do without the crew at GST... I love the fact that they are 15mins from my house too!

Do the V5 seats work with airbags? Seat warmers? I'm just curious
And you're in Fremont?

Seats are sold to Kendall, I dropped one of the seats off today at his work and he installed it right there on the spot, thats how easy it is to install. I'm sure he's happy as hell, going from the stock 2.5RS GC8 seats that are worn to hell to going to recaro sports.
