Tried to do the historic race with the AC cobra last night. I feel like that car can win, if I can improve the suspension settings.

It definitely has the power but I don't think it can turn well enough. I played with the suspension quite a bit and couldn't get it decent at all. Maybe sole downforce? I think the Lambo might be a better bet.

It seems the key is to drift it into the corners and then power out. When I initated a drift into the corner, it held speed better. I was keeping the Toyota 7 behind me, but I was not gaining on the 2J.

B spec right?
I did enter it in B-Spec, driver didn't go all that great with it. I was talking A-Spec. I was holding 2nd but just not quite getting first. But I think if I was to start in front of any 2J or Toyota 7, I would be able to win.

For a-spec, you should be able to beat the historic series with the lambo countach that you win from the lambo series(a-spec)..just remember to brake late into the corners and/or bump them into the grass

Is that the 25th anniversary one? Not the standard countach, right?

I used the lambo countach LP400 that you win from a-spec lambo series..you cant use the 25th anniversary due to the year of the car..just beef up the LP400 and you should be able to beat it with precision driving..you will take them in the corners, but on the straight they usually catch up..just make sure when you start your in 1st place by the first few turns, if not just restart it..hope that somewhat helps

But seriously, maybe they are giving people time to compete in the gt academy race before they put out new seasonals.
