Like in Europe where it cost an arm & a leg and 2 years of study/training.
Less idiot drivers on the road, less accidents.
Do you think a 5 lane freeway filled with Stigs driving 911s with no speed limit would be safe?
I would rather drive there in the slow lane than LA traffic with idiot Prius drivers floorin it everywhere
This.

I'm originally from Europe, got my first license when I was 17. In Europe it costs equivalent of 1 month salary, you have to take 40 hrs of training and then take multiple step exam, if you fail at the end, you have to start over. I remember it was really hard, but I got lucky.
I was laughing at how easy was to get a license in States.
Driving exams are a joke, and this explains why we have such awful drivers and so many accidents as a result of driver error, so much road rage and a complete lack of defensive driving skills.

Word.

You aren't required to demonstrate defensive driving or even driving on the freeway here!!!!

You can train someone all you want but you won't make them a perfect driver.

Don't get me wrong I think this whole thing is ridiculous but I can understand their argument.
I don't disagree at all. At least a driver who is skilled is more likely to take the right corrective action though. Bad drivers are bad drivers no matter what.

I have no clue what you are talking about.

Prius drivers go 70mph in the fast lane, blocking everyone, thinking they are jesus christ

And this.

I just got my license test roughly 1 year ago, and wow... the driving test was a complete joke. I felt I could've passed that after my first lesson. Not to mention, when I was taking my test, my proctor was texting and using her phone when she was supposed to CHECK MY DRIVING ABILITIES. I wanted to ask her if I could get a different proctor, but instead, she just gave me a pass. I seriously felt guilt for passing that test, because it didnt feel like a test at all. So what I did was give my mom the procoting sheet, and she would grade me, untill she felt I was eligable enough to pass that.
