government is cutting on OT pay. pls help to oppose, thank you.
New Hampshire's newest Democrat
New Hampshire has a Republican governor. The State Senate has 18 Republicans and six Democrats. The State House gives the GOP an eye-popping 281 to 119 advantage.
So why the heck would any Republican in that state decide to switch parties? State Rep. Corey Corbin switched parties a few weeks ago, and in this editorial, explains why:
The GOP proclaims itself the party of fewer taxes, of lower burdens on the people. Yet just last year, it was GOP-crafted legislation that led to the largest business and telecommunication tax increases in state history. In addition, the republican majority voted three times in one day, just this year, to increase the property tax burden on home owners by enacting the "C" budget in the House.
... The republican party advocates a good and "adequate" education for all children. Yet GOP actions in the House have repeatedly thwarted the efforts of public school systems to better educate our kids. How? By supporting legislation that ends the state's responsibility to pay for education; by pushing for funding for charter schools when the money doesn't exist; by refusing funding for programs like early literacy and programs for children with disabilities.
These are not the actions of a party that truly wishes to better the lives of the people it pretends to represent.
And so, after much deliberation and soul searching, I decided that my efforts were better spent advancing the cause of the common-man. I decided that I would join a party that champions the family, the little guy - the work-a-day people who make this state the great place to live, work and raise our kids we know it to be. I became a Democrat.

I didn't even know I hated America? Looks like someones been watching too many fox news reports. Anyone who disagrees is anti American these days, sounds like your anti democratic by trying to shut me up with your bull shi-t as-s insult.

The point!
I read all the posts under this thread and am amazed at how things take turns and go off in strange directions.
Aside from all the pro Bush/anti Bush sentiment etcetera the point of the original post is this , ladies , gentlemen , and young people... laws are being passed that do not give a damn whether you are Republican , Democrat , Pro-gun , anti abortion or for the use of medical marijuana. These are laws that will effect the working man and woman in this state in a way that is very detremental.
Many people , myself included , rely on overtime wages not to vacation in the Carribean , but to SURVIVE.
Many of you who have not been involved in organized labor or simply have not worked enough or suffered enough do not realize that every rule that is on that sheet of paper your boss must put up on the wall regarding workplace ethics , minimum wage etc. was paid for and printed by the backs and blood of many who came before you. They fought for those things we take for granted , in my line of work , many died for better safety and compensation.
Unless you're independently wealthy, live off of mommy and daddy (these are the brat bastards I personaly despise!)or just don't have a clue take the time to at least study what your criticizing from the original post. Me , I work for my living and I'll be damned if I'll give "Them" back anything my brother's and sisters fought for. And I would fight for eveyone of you even if you don't realize the importance of such a thing.Someone's kids rely on OT wages to survive in a very expensive state.
Who cares about liberal or conservative? If you think Your views in either direction matter well wake up.What matters is whether your paycheck says you can pay the mortgage and feed your family.
Fraternaly yours

I agree. This bill has very very little chance of passing. It is not supported by any major party's goals. People just like to trash other people with different views.

weak, very weak..
This does not bother me either way, I work on salary with flex time.
This is a very slanted article, but since the unionvoice website is supporting union views, then it's in their best political interest to scare the crap out of hourly wage workers.

Think about this for a second, I think he's talking about kids on the take, kids that have no idea what it's like to live in poverty, kids that may or may not grow up to exploit those at the lower end of the socioeconomic scale. It's not everyone necessarily who has wealthy. It's how you choose to use the privilege.
The division of wealth in this country sucks.

Or at least call people out for what they are not...
Don't you dare call me an America hater just because I don't like Bush. You have no F#%*&#G clue....my family has served in every war, and I'm closely related to the 2nd. president of this country.
Theoretically, you couldn't even call me a liberal to my face...I'm sure Agent Smith would then walk into the room, and then your lips would be erased just before you try to talk.
Really though, it is very hard to be in the Politcal Centre. No political party represents my views, even if I happen to be a registered Republican.
I have been the lowliest laborer or clerk, and worked my way up to the top, and have owned & operated two successful businesses.
I believe in Med. MJ, responsible gun ownership, fiscal responsibility, strong national security, strong separation of church and state (unlike Bush), and a President who can give a speech.
I wanted McCain, a true hero, tough as nails, and someone with real foreign policy savvy, unlike W. who called Greek people "Grecians".
Why couldn't Jim Luger have run at least?
The worst thing you can do when you face a religiously fundamentalist enemy (Extremist Islamic Fundamentalists), is to counter with your own Christian BS, like Bush did. You only embolden the Saracen, when you make it out to be a struggle between these two religions.
I have my reasons for hating Bush. He snorted lines & cheated his way through Yale, when my pops busted his *** by winning math club scholarships to get in.
I would rather have had Clinton for a 3rd. term than this monkey.
I blame our govt. for allowing 9/11/01 to happen (No SAM sites or radar setup to prevent, when we had it in the Vietnam era). Plus we trained these bastards....I can never forgive our govt. for that....
The only way I will give any credit to this administration (never to Bush) is if they actually get Israel & Arab states to agree to solid, lasting peace.
OUT.

Yes Gagan, I like you...and Ken too...I just think that this guy could have stated that it was a bad bill, and too look at it...but noooo...it had to be filled full of Bush and GOP bashing...the person that made the first post politicized the whole post. Once bleeding heart liberal politics came into play, then turnabout is fair play.
So don't tell me that I politicized the issue...the thread poster did. 9 months left in the gay bay. Then you guys can have this ***got liberal infested place all to yourselves. Maybe I can go to a combat zone so I can get tax free pay...that way I don't have to support the lazy ***, non-motivated losers either. It will be a win-win situation!

Daveheed...
We should forge our own party...because your views are nearly spot-on with mine...
Did you serve in the military?
To be honest with you, the reason that I am so vocal and vulgar is just to irritate the bleeding hearts. I know how they hate it when I hit on the touchy issues that they adore.
I am not a Republican, I am not a Democrat, I am a registered "Undeclared". I have never been a registered Republican, nor will I ever be. I have been a registered Democrat up until a year ago when I realized what their socialist agenda was.
I absolutely adore John S. McCain...I served 3 years on the John S. McCain (DDG-56), an AEGIS Guided Missile Destroyer. I got into trouble because I placed a McCain for president sticker on my rack on the ship.
I have to disagree with you on one issue though. I think that it is wise for Bush to push the Christian agenda. I love it when he says "May God bless ____." I am a Christian, but I do not like organized religion (Read...church). He does it to incite the hate among the Islamists.
SAM sites would have done nothing for the WTC...I am a SAM fire controlman (Systems engineer). By they time that the sleeping watches would have realized what was going on, the WTC towers would have already been obliterated.
I did not mean to call you guys America haters...I apolagize for that. Although I have heard things come out of certain individuals mouths that were very anti-American. I will mention no names, but they do frequent the boards. I have devoted my life to the service of this country. Honestly, I feel that I have more right to voice my opinion than those who have not served. Call it selfish, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Too many people think they are too good to serve this country. It makes me sick. Every healthy man should do 2 years in the service.

I'm tired of the tired *** republican party acting like they support what any level headed human would, then they do everything the opposite. They campaign to their base and do what the fock they want to do when in office. And you fools eat it up. You agree with me but oppose me.
