Well, not really sure I got shot at, but my dad was driving, I was in the passenger seat, and we were going 50 behind a couple of other cars, a truckish thing going the other way flashes his lights, and then as he passes us we here a big bang. When we got to the parking lot, we stopped and looked at it, and theres this jigantic round whole in the side of the car (its an XC70 not a subaru, so its got thicker metal, but it was literally brand new) Sooooooo annoying. Not really sure what it was, or why the guy in the truck did whatever he did. We'd think a bullet cuz of the size and shape of the whole, and how fast we were going but it didn't go all the way through (thinking maybe because a brace might be directly behind it. It doesn't seem like he coulda thown anything fast enough otherwise. Anyay, it wasn't rebared and I'm kinda pissed, tho not as pissed as my dad who owns the car, just thought I'd share, any ideas what coulda done it, and maye how to fix it? I'll try to post a pic tomoro.

EDIT: Changed title since concensus seems to be was just debris, and it seems to make more sense, damned rebar, don't want to leave the title as a misleading one, Thats all!

Call the police right away...This is the only way to catch crazy people that do this.

 

that's some crazy stuff. glad to know that you and your father are safe. like everyone else said, you should definitely report this to the police.

 

A bullet will take all the paint off of the metal around the hole that it leaves. Even if it doesn't go all the way through or even if it doesn't penetrate the body of the car it will still take the paint all the way off. It might have been just a rock launched by his tire as he passed. As we all know a rock launched by another cars tire can shatter a windshield. It will definately sound something like a bullet hitting your car...

Up load a pic of the damage...I'd like to see it, I'm sure others would too.

Just curious. Did you dad have high beam on? Or the cars he's following have it on?

 

fess up already, if you shot at an XC70 cause they had thier high beams on, thats not cool man.

I tried taking a pic last night, but the lighting was bad, and I couldn't get it to come out. When I get home, probably about 6ish I'll definently post one, I was just to lazy last night, sorry. It could've been a rock, thats what I keep saying, but the dentish hole-ish thing is too round, and seems too deep, and the fact that the guy was flashing his lights and seemed upset just seems like to big of a coincidence.

My dad didn't have his highs on, I don't know if either of the cars in front of us did tho, it ws kind of hard to tell.

O yea, and the paint is gone from the dent, it didn't go all the way through (we sure with it'd hit the window cuz then it'd be simple replacement as far as fixing goes, and we would've known for sure wat happened when it happened rather than ~20 mins later.

Uh... He did have his lights on, so I hope that was a joke????? On the xc70, theres three options for the headlights, Automatic (turns lights on when at all dark), parking lights (only one w/o headlights) and On. And then of course high. Anyway, he had the lights on, didn't have highs on, so again, I hope you were just joking about that (tho if u were, I miss the humor)???
