I don't usually recommend the boost solenoid for stock turbo STI's because they're already quite responsive and the gains aren't always worth it for the agerage customer. In the case of a race gas tune, however, the solenoid really brings out the full potential of the turbo and really helps get much closer to full boost in the lower gears. After this tune, I would recommend the solenoid to anyone using their STI for drag racing or any sort of motorsports. Even on the 91 octane map, the solenoid gives some nice gains in the lower gears and in overall response.

FYI, this car is running 22.5psi peak tapering to just under 16psi by redline. The a/f is also on the rich side as far as race gas tunes go.

Thanks

Did you get retuned for 91 with the new BCS?

Also, what mods do you have?

Looks like fun!

Was this the GM boost solenoid, the prodrive one or something else? Thinking about getting one before I get tuned.

This car has a Perrin DP, HKS catback, GM solenoid and Protune. I believe that's it, but I'll let Sean complete the list if I'm missing something.

Thanks

This is the GM solenoid, but I have been recommending the prodrive unit to people who do not wish to cut the stock harness. All of the 3-port solenoids work pretty much the same.

Thanks

This car looks like it was a hard puller right out of the gate.

Indeed... this is one of the fastest if not the fastest stage 2 STI I've tuned. Deffinately a strong motor, although it wasn't really above average when it came in on the Cobb map.

Thanks
