so i was getting kinda worried that my turbo timer would eff me over, so i went to my car attempting to disconnect the wire, realizing that i didnt know the first step to doing that, i just turned the car on and prayed that there was a off switch on the timer, and in 2 seconds i found it, i just pressed the top left button (hks turbo timer) like 3 times and it turned off, and i turned the car on (no engine start) and off a couple times to see if it stayed off and it did, so i'm praying that in the morning when i do turn the car fully on, the timer doesnt try to turn on and eff me over! also for extra precaution i put electrical tape over the screen so it just looks black (it's located under my steering wheel so it's hard enough for u to see it in the first place)

You guys wasted your money on a "gadget" that is completely unnecessary on a stock or near stock Subaru. Subies use a water and oil cooled turbo and will continue to cool whether the car is running or not. I guess if you like the car running for 1-3 minutes after you take the key out, that is up to you, however it is completely unnecessary unless you are running a different turbo setup that does not have the dual cooling.

Just take them off and sell them to someone who needs it, ie EVO or supra

I've been told by a police officer in SF that its illegal to not be in your car when its running. so by whatever goofy rule that is, turbo time is illegal.

but a gauge? wtf?

I do not understand how you could allow the ref tech to do this to you.
Did you contest his ruling?
Did you ask for the reference document that he based his decision on?
Did you ask to speak with the manager person?
