It was released in October of last year.
And they might do what they did with the hero 2. Release it about a year before its actually being sold. If I remember correctly it was announced the hero 2 was being created in like June 2010.

I have a friend who works at GoPro. And I may have already seen one of these Black Edition cameras last month. And I may have already seen the results. And man, it's AWESOME.
