Is Himawari the one in the downtown area in San Mateo? If so that place is really good, I been wanting to know the name of that place.

I just came from there... nice bowl of about 10-12 wontons of good size. Meat was meatball size about 1.5 inches diameter with good flavoring. But it was PURE meat... with no shrimp, no preserved turnip, no mushrooms, no water chestnuts, etc. Skins were cooked properly and not falling apart. All in a clear broth soup with green onion garnish.

Seriously... nothing beats "my mom's". Heh.

 

Ramen - Orenchi and Ramen Dojo are my top 2.

 

Yup homemade is the best, nothing beats my dads pho

 

Orenchi, heard the raves, went there, got severely food poisoned by that egg...NEVER going back.

Santouka, love it! This is my "closest to home" favorite place, unless i go to either Ramen Halu or Maru-ichi (only the Castro St./Mtn View location tho)

Tastiest ramen ever had !

 

Try Ramn Parlor right down the street from Ramen Dojo. Its by the same people but where Dojo is mostly traditional Parlor is a bit more experimental. Its F'n awesome!
