Good store to buy rings?

If it's an engagement ring, the suggestion these days it to spend 2-3 months salary on the ring. Don't be a cheap ***, she'll remind you of that the rest of your life. I spent $3k on my wife's first ring and just upgraded it to a 1.5ct D/IF for 10 years of having a ball and chain, which you DO NOT want to know how much it cost.
If it's just something to be cute, look on ebay, lots of decent stuff there, but personally I wouldn't cheap out regardless of the occasion.

As for in America, people don't care about the pureness and want their jewelery to be sturdier. As long as it's "real" gold with a diamond that's all that matters. I say "real" because while it is gold, it has a lot of other stuff in it as well to make it harder.
